22nd XBRL International Conference in Brussels, Belgium
The 22nd XBRL International Conference: "Sharing Economic Information in a Global World: The XBRL Contribution” produced by XBRL International, Inc. and hosted by XBRL Europe was held in Brussels, Belgium between 17-19 May 2011.
During the conference a number of important decisions on XBRL implementation were announced including the plan of application of the standard for insurance sector by EIOPA, BMA and CIRC (http://www.xbrl.org/Home/FINAL%20XBRL%20for%20Insurance%20Rls%2027May11.pdf).
As usually, the conference was preceded by XBRL Training Courses. Traditionally (since 2006) one of the trainings devoted to XBRL framework, architecture, taxonomies, reports and implementation aspects was led by the BR-AG experts. The training in Brussels attracted over 20 participants representing public administration, financial market supervisors, software and consultancy companies from 13 European and Asian countries.
During the conference, BR-AG experts shared their experience on XBRL implementations (Eurofiling and BMA) at the Interactive Data Collection track and knowledge on the standard and tools maturity at XBRL Technology & Practices track. The 23rd XBRL International Conference will be held between 25-27 October 2011 in Montreal, Canada.
