BR-AG presented at the IBM Data Governance Executive Breakfast
Warsaw, PL, August 21 -- On 20th of August IBM Poland organised a Data Governance Executive Breakfast with the aim to present and discuss data governance theory and best practises.
The event featured speeches by Steven Adler, IBM Data Governance Council Chairman and Michal Piechocki, XBRL International Steering Committee Member.
This event enabled an important discussion about data governance concept and explained practical approach to implementation of best practices. Participants included representatives of large Polish companies and represented a variety of industry sectors.
The concept of data governance was explained with the IBM Data Maturity Model developed to support organisations in efficient control on information flows. The XBRL standard was presented as supportive for data architecture definition and management both for internal and external reporting functions. During the discussion five use cases were introduced about XBRL potential for data governance:
- internal systems integration and interoperability
- consolidation of financial statements
- internal control and internal audit
- data integrity for management dashboards and BI systems
- external reporting including mandatory and voluntary schemes
